Currently, Abba Medix is seeking a Finance Associate. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Finance Associate will support key accounting and finance operations including reconciliations, reporting, accounts payable/receivable, tax compliance, and team collaboration across multiple business entities.
Key Responsibilities
Reconciliations and Reporting
• Verify and reconcile monthly sales and bank statements
• Reconcile inventory, cost of goods sold (COGS), and other financial accounts
• Aggregate financial data from multiple software platforms for regular reporting
• Assist with monthly inventory reporting, including opening and closing balances
• Maintain and update product SKU codes
Accounts Payable (AP) & Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Match purchase orders with inventory received and process supplier invoices
• Track and manage AP and AR, including payment preparation and follow-ups
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of all financial transactions
Tax Compliance and Documentation
• Assist in preparing Excise, HST/QST, and other tax filings
• Prepare audit documentation for CRA and support internal/external audit processes
• Maintain accurate compliance records for financial and tax reporting
Team Support and Internal Controls
• Provide operational support to the finance team during peak periods
• Contribute to financial statement preparation and month-end/year-end closings
• Support internal control processes and respond to audit request
Requirements & Qualifications
Qualifications
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas/functions
• Experience with accounting for inventory and cost of goods sold
• Understanding of FIFO inventory method
• Ability to handle tasks across multiple legal entities
Skills
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in reconciliations and reporting
• Highly organized and comfortable using Microsoft Office tools
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines
• Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks or Sage 50
• Bilingualism in French (spoken and written) is an asset
• Other tasks as needed

Compensation
$62,500.00 - $75,000.00 per year
